Privacy Policy

This policy describes the information collected during a visit, the reasons it may be used, and the limited situations in which another party may receive it. By using Yuma County Criminal History, you agree to these practices.

Data You Give Us Directly

Search Queries

Names and locations entered in a search tool are sent directly to the outside provider that operates it. That provider handles the query and supplies the result. Yuma County Criminal History does not keep or log those search terms on its own systems.

Messages and Contact Submissions

An email or other direct message may be retained long enough to respond and maintain the related correspondence. It remains within the organization unless disclosure is required by law.

Data We Gather Automatically

When a page loads, the servers may automatically receive standard technical facts about the visit:

  • The time of each page request
  • Your device's assigned IP address
  • The referring site, when one is reported
  • Your browser type and version
  • The operating system and device category
  • The pages viewed and time spent on them

Cookies and Analytics

Cookies are small files saved on a device. They help show, in aggregate, which pages are used most and where visits tend to end. Analytics providers assist with that traffic analysis. You can block cookies through browser settings, although doing so may change how parts of the website work.

What We Do With This Data

  • Routing a search request to the selected partner
  • Maintaining site availability and performance
  • Finding and repairing technical problems
  • Understanding which pages visitors use
  • Displaying advertising that may reflect visitor interests

No Criminal-Record Data on File

Yuma County Criminal History does not build, store, or sell a database of personal criminal records. It publishes general directions to records held by YCSO, Yuma County courts, the Arizona Department of Public Safety Central State Repository, and the Arizona DPS OffenderWatch registry. The site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor data is not assembled into consumer reports or third-party criminal files.

Third-Party Search Partners

Outside companies operate the search boxes. A partner's own privacy policy controls the query submitted to its tool, including its retention and sharing choices. Those practices are outside this site's control, so review the partner's terms before running a search.

Links to Other Websites

Links may lead to sheriff pages, court systems, Arizona agencies, legal resources, or outside search services. Once you leave this website, the destination's privacy policy applies. Read it before providing personal information.

Advertising providers may use their own systems to track activity across websites and select ads. This site does not control that outside tracking.

Who Might See Your Data

Personal data is not sold. Limited information may be available to:

  • Analytics vendors that measure traffic and performance
  • Search partners that process a submitted query
  • Advertising networks that serve page ads
  • Government or law enforcement bodies acting under a valid legal demand

How We Protect Your Data

Reasonable, standard safeguards are used for collected data. No internet system is completely secure, however, and the site cannot promise that unauthorized access or a breach will never occur.

Users Under 18

The website is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal data from anyone younger than 18. If information from a minor is identified, a request may be made to remove it.

Your Data Rights

Arizona Public Records Law, A.R.S. Title 39, governs records held by public offices, while A.R.S. § 41-1750 limits dissemination from the state criminal-history repository. Those laws do not make this private site a government custodian. Subject to laws that apply to a particular request, you may:

  • Opt out of some forms of data processing
  • Request a copy of personal data held about you
  • Ask that inaccurate information be corrected
  • Request deletion where the law permits it

Updates to This Policy

This policy may be revised. An updated version will appear here with its new effective date, so visitors should review the page from time to time.
